The gothic council chamber with simple wainscoting and timbered ceiling is considered the most beautiful of the entire Tyrol region. It is possible to visit the city hall and its remarkable art collection.

Since 1986 the Multscher Museum is located in the east wing of the German Order. Since 1994 also the Civic Museum of Vipiteno is located in the same building. The Multscher Museum contains sections of the late Gothic altar with the four famous altar panels built between 1456 and 1459 by Hans Multscher of Ulm for the parish church of Vipiteno. The panels represent scenes of the Virgin's life and the Passion of Christ. The altar is considered a masterpiece of that period. The Civic Museum of Vipiteno is located in the baroque rooms. Several wall paintings show the city, the surroundings and fragments of the history of the German Order. Particularly important are several exposed documents concerning the life in the city and the collection of objects and documents of guilds and brotherhoods.
